ESS05_Apply for Other Leave Types

In this instruction you will learn to apply for other leave types (than Annual)

Other leave types that you may apply for include:

  • Amazing
  • An annual day that you can take for any reason you choose, 1
    paid day in each financial year that cannot to be used in
    conjunction with any other leave.
  • Carers Leave
  • If you are a carer for ill family member and need to take leave (this will be from your sick leave entitlement)
  • Carers Leave no certificate
  • As above but no certificate provided by Doctor
  • Ceremonial Leave
  • A staff member of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
    who is legitimately required by indigenous tradition to be absent
    from work for ceremonial purposes.
  • Personal Leave
  • Sick Leave
  • Personal Leave
  • Sick Leave with no certificate provided by Doctor
  • Unpaid Carers Leave
  • Leave without Pay – All other forms of paid leave must be exhausted
  • Unpaid Carers Leave
  • Leave without Pay – All other forms of paid leave must be exhausted
  • Unpaid Parental Leave
  • Leave without Pay – All other forms of paid leave must be exhausted
  • Unpaid Personal Leave
  • Leave without Pay – All other forms of paid leave must be exhausted

Other Leave types not included on ESS, leave applications to be discussed with and entered by Supervisor:

  • Dad and Partner Leave
  • Eligible applicants will receive up to 2 weeks of government-funded pay at the National Minimum Wage. This can be received at any time in the first year after the child’s birth or adoption, as long as the Dad or partner is on leave.
  • Domestic Violence Leave
  • This will be recorded as Special Leave and is in addition to existing leave entitlements.
  • Community Service/ Jury Leave
  • Applicant completes the Emplive leave request as soon as they are aware of the requirement to undertake Jury Service.
  • Long Service Leave
  • A staff member of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent who is legitimately required by indigenous tradition to be absent from work for ceremonial purposes.
  • Parental Leave
  • Applicant applies in writing for Parental (maternity) leave.
  • Voluntary Emergency Management Activity Leave
  • Leave without Pay- Attendees must provide a certificate of attendance on completion of the training.
